SM City Legazpi, the Bicol Region’s newest lifestyle destination opens today, Sept. 14. It is SM Prime’s 71st supermall, and the second in Bicolandia after SM City Naga.

Legazpi City, the capital of Albay, is the regional center and largest city in the Bicol Region in terms of population. It is the region’s center of tourism, education, health services, commerce and transportation. In 2018, Legazpi was ranked first in overall competitiveness by the National Competitive Council. The city also ranked first in infrastructure and second in economic dynamism.

Located in the southern foothills of scenic Mount Mayon, Legazpi is also known as the "City of Fun and Adventure," and has a flourishing tourism industry. There are a number of tourism adventure activities within the city, including riding an ATV around Mt. Mayon, zip-lining, skydiving, scuba diving, and water sports.

Located along Imelda Roces Avenue in Barangay Bitano, the 87,706-sq. m. three- level mall will serve shoppers in bustling Legazpi as well as the rest of Albay. The mall’s design includes a set of bold forms with a subtle, yet impactful curve along Terminal 2 Road that leads visitors to main entry points. Contrasting patterns of varying blues and greys create a distinctive approach along each façade, while a blue frame highlights one of its most unique features; an exterior balcony where visitors can capture a selfie with Mt. Mayon.

The interior of SM City Legazpi is organized around a simple, z-shaped plan that allows for clear views to shops at each level. The palette consists of crisp, clean finishes that incorporate a mixture of playful colors and lighting arrangements to enliven the space. In addition to the ample natural daylight that fills the main mall, visitors will be able to enjoy expansive views of Mt. Mayon through the SM Food Hall and the Prestige Lounge, which is accessible through The SM Store.

The SM Store and SM Supermarket are SM City Legazpi’s anchor stores with SM mainstays like the SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware, Our Home, Wat- sons, Surplus, Sports Central and Miniso leading the way. It also has a Cyberzone for techie shoppers, as well as fashion boutiques, shoe stores, jewelry stores, eyewear stores, bookstores, and sports stores.

Eating out options include a Food Hall, where one can get a spectacular view of Mount Mayon, as well as well-loved local and international food chains and specialty restaurants.

Homegrown businesses have also found their way to SM City Legazpi. These include Ilawod Café, Graceland, J. Emmanuel, P. Aldana, Viva Massage, Pixel 8, UST Legazpi Clinic, Legazpi Haircutters, and Sticks and Strings.
