Curry lifts War­riors past Mav­er­icks

DAL­LAS— Stephen Curry scored 48 points, mak­ing 11 3-point­ers, and the Golden State War­riors held off the Dal­las Mav­er­icks 119-114 in the NBA on Sun­day. Kevin Du­rant added 28 points. Curry’s 11th 3-pointer—ty­ing a sea­son high—gave the War­riors a 117-114 lead. In Wash­ing­ton, East lead­ers Toronto Rap­tors out­lasted the Wizards in two over­time pe­ri­ods 140-138 for their fifth straight win.

Kevin Du­rant added 28 points and Klay Thomp­son had nine of his 16 in the fourth quar­ter.

Curry’s 11th 3-pointer—ty­ing a sea­son high—gave the War­riors a 117-114 lead.

Dray­mond Green blocked Jalen Brun­son’s drive at the other end and se­cured the loose ball. The Mav­er­icks forced a miss, but Har­ri­son Barnes turned the ball over in the front­court with 5 sec­onds left. Curry sealed the game with free throws.

Luka Don­cic scored 26 points for Dal­las and Barnes had 22.

In Wash­ing­ton, Serge Ibaka hit a 3-pointer with 15 sec­onds left in the sec­ond over­time and Toronto out­lasted Wash­ing­ton 140-138 for its fifth straight vic­tory.

Kawhi Leonard led Toronto, which blew a 23-point lead, with 41 points and 11 re­bounds.

Bradley Beal had his sec­ond triple-dou­ble of the sea­son for Wash­ing­ton, fin­ish­ing with sea­son highs of 43 points and 15 re­bounds and adding 10 as­sists.

Gian­nis An­te­tok­oun­mpo scored 33 points and Mil­wau­kee won in coach Mike Bu­den­holzer’s re­turn to At­lanta, 133-114.
