Sen­tro 1771 has so es­tab­lished it­self among the dis­cern­ing palates of Manileños, that it is dif­fi­cult to find a time the restau­rant is not full of pa­trons. It's that good.

TATLER TIPS

Start off your meal with a flavour­some fried kesong puti. The del­i­cate na­tive white cheese nicely con­trasts with its crisp breaded ex­te­rior. For en­trées, the ex­cep­tional chicken adobo sa gata is a must-try. The dish re­tains the clas­sic vine­gar, gar­lic, and pep­per­corn com­po­si­tion, but the co­conut milk pro­vides a re­fresh­ingly richer and denser vari­a­tion of the clas­sic adobo. Fol­low this up with a de­li­cious egg­plant torta filled with crispy flaked ban­gus and tofu. Cap off your meal with the halo-halo, made up of some of the fresh­est in­gre­di­ents, such as red mung beans, sweet­ened gar­ban­zos, and Sen­tro’s own home-made ube.
