6:00 AM: Woke up, checked my email and went on the elliptical at the hotel gym for 30 minutes. A little bit of exercise gives me energy throughout the day.
8:30 AM: Breakfast with my team and then a boat trip on the Bosphorus. The views of the city were extraordinary.
11:30 AM: Visited the Topkapi Palace, which was the primary residence of the Ottoman sultans for about 400 years. I love seeing how Turkish art and different architectural styles evolved over time.
1:00PM: For lunch, we shared an assortment of mezes—small plates of traditional Turkish food—at Konyali, a restaurant at the palace overlooking
2:00 PM: Visited the Blue Mosque—it’s not my first visit, but I still can’t get over the blue floral tiles….
3:00: PM Went to the Grand Bazaar—one of the most exciting shopping experiences ever with ceramics, textiles, carpets…. I needed an extra suitcase.
6:00 PM Back to the hotel to catch up on email and pack for my flight home.
8:00 PM: Dinner with our business partner in Istanbul—we traveled by boat to his home on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. The city lights were so beautiful against the night sky. I’m already thinking about when I can come back….
