No Hitches, No Glitches

Gets the lowdown on the three-day cover shoot of retail king Ben Chan and his brand Bench

-

rom any angle, this cover shoot is a master stroke. To celebrate its 30th anniversary as a brand, Bench called in all its stars, neon-lit names and faces in the celebrity world, to come together and be photographed. “Extremely difficult” would even be an understatement.

Just consider the logistics. 25 subjects, 19 of them celebrities with full schedules from two major television networks and six management teams; 22 top celebrity hair and make-up artists; four locations; three weeks to organise; and three days of shooting.

Some even moved heaven and earth to meet his/ her schedule. Bea Alonzo and Liza Soberano came from a 16-hour shoot without any sleep. Daniel Padilla was pulled out of a taping. Ylona Garcia and Bailey May both came straight from the airport.

That this epic production was not only pulled off but pulled off successfully can be credited to three factors. One is the full cooperation given by all the celebrities who were once or still are Bench models. The second is preparation, preparation, preparation.

Last but not least is, of course, a magic name: Bench.
