LABEL LOVER
Born and raised in South Korea, Jung Wook Jun graduated from the country’s leading fashion university, Esmod Seoul, and immediately began honing his craft at renowned fashion labels such as Club Monaco, establishing a strong foundation in classic tailoring. He founded his own label, Lone Costume, in 1999, and his debut at Seoul Fashion Week was followed by great success. His deftness at deconstruction and unusual silhouettes quickly garnered a cult following, and within eight years he launched Juun J at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, becoming the first Korean to show on the coveted platform. His grasp of gender-neutral tailoring allowed the rising Korean star, who often credits Helmut Lang as his main inspiration, to develop his own approach to designing, a mix of high-end fabrics with bold cutting that he calls “street tailoring.”
