Za­can­dCody alum­nus Cole Sprouse, pic­tured here with Ben Chan and his fa­ther, re­cently vis­ited Manila for a meet-and-greet with fans, as a global en­dorser for mega cloth­ing brand Bench. Through­out his stay in the city, Sprouse was seen in Divi­so­ria and Pobla­cion, places that are usu­ally con­sid­ered un­ortho­dox for an in­ter­na­tional celebrity to visit. One ma­jor high­light of his trip was when he re­ceived an an­tique mask from Ben Chan, as the re­tail gi­ant heard of Sprouse’s col­lec­tion of ex­otic masks.


Long known for her con­cern for the wel­fare of un­der­priv­i­leged chil­dren, for­mer con­gress­woman Nikki Pri­eto-Teodoro re­cently took her oath as the coun­try’s Special En­voy to the United Na­tions Chil­dren’s Fund (UNICEF) at the Philip­pine Em­bassy in Lon­don. She was for­mally sworn into her new du­ties by An­to­nio Lag­dameo, Philip­pine am­bas­sador to the UK.


Ev­ery­one knows Ar­lene Cu loves to dance. So when she cel­e­brated her birth­day, she threw a party where she pulled out all the stops by invit­ing one of the world’s lead­ing ball­room dancers to per­form. The best part of it? She had a dance num­ber where she was low­ered by hy­draulics from the ceil­ing. Guests screamed with de­light as the birth­day girl danced up a storm—def­i­nitely one for the books!

Na­ture fi­nally took its course and now it’s Quark Henares who’s head­ing to the al­tar.The di­rec­tor pro­posed to long-time girl­friend singer­song­writer Bianca Yu­son. Putting his di­rec­to­rial skills to good use, Henares or­ches­trated the whole set up while di­rect­ing her mu­sic video. Fam­ily mem­bers and friends were in a hold­ing area where they could watch him go down on bended knee. A party broke out as soon as she said yes. We wish this cre­ative cou­ple all the best!


Denizens of the fash­ion in­dus­try know her best as the dy­namic force be­hind world-renowned tal­ent agency Ford Models, which her par­ents founded in 1946. To­day, how­ever, the world knows Katie Ford as a staunch ad­vo­cate against hu­man trafficking through her foun­da­tion Free­dom for All. As part of her ad­vo­cacy, she was re­cently in Manila to sup­port close friend and fel­low ad­vo­cate Ce­cile Oe­banda, founder of Voice of the Free, at a char­ity talk held at Manila House. There, th­ese two amaz­ing women spoke to raise aware­ness about the il­le­gal trafficking of women and chil­dren in the Philip­pines.
