Bottega Veneta’s women’s early fall 2018 collection goes mid-century modern. Coordinated and polished daytime ensembles and timeless silhouettes take on a quirky, upbeat, modern twist. Boxy coats and jackets with bracelet-length sleeves, slim knits, A-line skirts, and roundtoe pumps are revived for the brand’s fall line. But while there is harmony to the palette of each look, the pieces are definitively mixed and not matched. Printed cotton piqué coats are worn over sequin dresses in contrasting prints. More of the artfully unexpected comes in panels of shiny, multi-colour paillettes layered on printed coats, with a triple-wrap, contrast check belt pulling it all together. These organic abstract prints are newsworthy—possibly the boldest motif creative director Tomas Maierever has created for the brand. Bottega Veneta is located at Greenbelt 5, Makati.
