IN HIGH SPIRITS
Shackleton WhiSky
A century ago, Sir Ernest Shackleton sailed across the sea to the South Pole with his crew in hopes of becoming the first to reach farthest south. Due to life-threatening circumstances, Shackleton abandoned the expedition, choosing the safety of his team over the pursuit of glory. In 2007, some of the supplies Shackleton had left behind were discovered, among them crates of Mackinlay’s Rare Old Highland Malt Whisky, perfectly preserved in ice. Master Distiller Richard Paterson was approached to create a whisky that captured its spirit, resulting in one of the most famous blended malts to date. Whisky lovers in the Philippines now have access to enjoy Shackleton Blended Malt Scotch Whisky through Whyte & Mackay, who unveiled it to the press at a special ice bar event.
