My warmest greetings to the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. as it holds its

National Congress in conjunction with the observance of the National Book Week and the

Library and Information Services Month.

Even at a time of rapid technological innovations and the digitization of information, physical libraries stand as enduring institutions where people gather to interact, learn, and explore together. A library is ultimately a sanctuary for those who seek knowledge and a repository of a community’s history, heritage, and unique identity.

For nearly a century, your organization has consistently upheld the importance of libraries in nation-building and continuing learning. May these events result in a greater appreciation of the role of libraries in advancing our society and in building a much brighter future for generations to come.

Congratulations and I wish you all the best! President Republic of the Philippines
