The NCCA-NCLIS gratefully acknowledges with deep appreciation to the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) for having been the prime mover of events in the celebration of the “festive” November every year!
Filipino librarians always look forward to the various activities planned by PLAI, the mother association of all library organizations such as the National Book Week and Congress.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Connecting Actions, Collective Vision: Librarians Transforming Society”, is well-framed for an in-depth soul-searching, a reflective review, and a challenge for all librarians as information providers.
“No man is an island”, as a classic saying goes. Let us connect, collaborate, and cooperate to achieve this vision and contribute our role in nationhood. Our goal is to have a community of improved functional literacy, a well-balanced and well-informed society.
This aim is obtained through generous and open sharing of library resources with an enabling system and redefining of library objective and roles with a vision to make Philippine libraries as sources for learning knowledge and skills for all.
Thank you, PLAI, for these noble ideas. May the “millennial” leadership continue to support the vital role of libraries in transforming society.
Mabuhay and to God be the Glory!
