Driven by the will to become vehicles of social change, both the government and different civil society organizations are using whatever they have to resolve the growing societal divides in the Philippines. Despite the efforts and the pour of resources, societal divides remain and continue to grow because of poor judgment on where to focus the efforts and resources. This presentation discusses how libraries—academic, special, and public—can contribute to making good and informed decisions for social development. Strategies and challenges that libraries may face in this pursuit are also explored. Keywords: societal divides; social development; libraries; development hub
