There are new emerg­ing chal­lenges for li­brar­i­ans in the trans­formed in­for­ma­tion land­scape. It is when med­i­cal and al­lied sciences li­braries are mov­ing to­wards pro­vid­ing more spe­cial­ized, cus­tom­ized, and per­son­al­ized ser­vices to meet chang­ing needs and de­mands of their stake­hold­ers to ac­com­plish their goals of learn­ing, pro­vid­ing health pro­fes­sions ed­u­ca­tion and ef­fi­cient pa­tient care. The study aims to iden­tify and em­brace many forms and de­grees of li­brar­i­an­ship em­bed­ded­ness among se­lected med­i­cal and health li­brar­i­ans in the Philip­pines.

The re­searchers used de­scrip­tive sur­vey method to de­ter­mine the level of em­bed­ded li­brar­i­an­ship based on the “Pro­posed Fivelevel Model” within the con­text of med­i­cal and health sciences li­braries. It in­cludes de­scrib­ing their dif­fer­ent roles, knowl­edge, and skills that are de­sir­able for health sciences li­brar­i­ans work­ing as em­bed­ded li­brar­i­ans.
