As agents of change in the so­ci­ety, li­brar­i­ans, archivists, and in­for­ma­tion pro­fes­sion­als must re­al­ize their value in the com­mu­nity and un­der­stand their re­spec­tive work­place and wel­fare rights in or­der to bet­ter serve their re­spec­tive lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties and trans­form so­ci­eties. In this ses­sion, the es­sen­tial role of li­brar­i­ans, archivists, and in­for­ma­tion pro­fes­sion­als in the com­mu­nity is dis­cussed, as well as the bills and leg­is­la­tions on la­bor and wel­fare rights and em­ploy­ment pro­tec­tion that are ben­e­fi­cial for li­brar­i­ans, archivists, and in­for­ma­tion pro­fes­sion­als in the Philip­pines.
