Why we wanna stick our hands into Loewe’s pink pick.

Preview (Philippines) - - Chapter One Mood - BY JAE DE VEYRA PICKRELL

Just like the pastry that you pick out from the gleaming gaggle winking at you from behind the pastry shop’s glass display, bags signify your taste in more ways than one, and there’s nothing puzzling about wanting Loewe’s Puzzle bag as your summertime treat. Clearly, the Loewe team has put as much effort and thought into making it as great patissiers do with sweets to make us forget our diets without even a blink. We’re won over by the Puzzle’s luscious, buttery calfskin and delicate yet sturdy structure, and that millennial pink doesn’t hurt either—in fact, it just makes us want to sink our teeth—er, get our hands on it all the more.

The Puzzle is made of 41 different leathers, nine textile pieces, 45 cloth armors, plus the gold details and zippers.

Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson revealed that the Puzzle’s design was inspired by the construction of an old fake leather bag.

The abstract shape came from tracing along the lines where the leather had cracked off. Artisans carefully laser-cut the leather planes before assembling them like origami.

Loewe artisans do all the sewing by hand. To complete one bag, 524 actions are required in about 530 minutes.
