ABOUT LAST NIGHT
An after-hours shopping party of ’80s discomania proportions.
Relive the ‘80s in this after-hours shoe-shopping fete.
“This is really too much fun!” model Yanna Cowper quipped while editing the #SOTD she took in our tinsel photo booth. It was a throwback to the ’80s as we hosted a very Pretty in Pink prom-themed after-hours shopping party with Parisian Shoes and Bags. We had the fourth floor of SM Makati all to ourselves, and we dressed it up with balloons, confetti and an abundance of silver tinsel scattered throughout the shelves, which were laden with our curated picks from Parisian’s latest styles. Our guests arrived in their fun party frocks, from frou-frou skirts to bold and brightly colored dresses. But it was Kiana Valenciano and Lauren Reid, members of Parisian’s new Style Squad, who really turned heads: Kiana was in a metallic pale pink suit, while Lauren was in an aquamarine sequined tulle dress that she paired with gold heels and lace socks. At 9 p.m., Parisian Shoes Senior Merchandising Manager Angela Abe showed their latest lookbook reel featuring Kiana and Lauren, while guests eyed the Perspex-heeled sandals and ring-handled purses to take home. As soon as we dropped the mic, the girls scattered across the shoe salon to try on pairs by the dozen. Issa Pressman strutted in boots with her friend Marga Bermudez, aka Marga On the Mic; bloggers Farrah Espina and Sophie Ramos took turns posing on the balloon-strewn floor; while model Tessa Burton got creative with the silver discoball ornaments, using them as earrings for her selfie. By 11 p.m., the shopping had ended, but the photos ensued by the tinsel curtains. The next day saw a flood of #OOTDS and snaps from the night—receipts of a great party we’d love to throw again.
Prom kween: Model Jodilly Pendre arrived in a tiered Jot Losa lace dress that had everyone’s eyes on her. “I’m sorry I went all out!” Jodilly joked, but a look this memorable needs no apology.
Call it a fascination for the John Hughes flick Pretty in Pink. We asked the gals to come dressed for an ‘80s-style prom.
