MOD MOD WORLD
Who could forget the mod movement? An experimental time in beauty, the ’60s was a lot of fun for makeup lovers and also a time when beauty brands started developing modern makeup to become what we use now. Eyeliner was the most important tool, along with mascara and falsies (hello, Twiggy!), and everything else was pared down to emphasize all that hard work put into eye makeup. Fast-forward to 2017: Girls on the Dries Van Noten and Alexander Mcqueen runways walked with both oversized lashes and cut creases (in black, white and more). For a contemporary mod eye, start by applying either a concealer, a shadow close to your natural skin tone, or a tinted 1 eye primer on your lids. With a light hand, take a liquid liner, like Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in Satin Black (P1233, sephora.ph), and trace your crease to make a simple “cut,” then connect it with a winged liner for a more wide-eyed look. Finish with your 2 false lashes of choice. Try Dolly Wink’s Lash Concierge False Eyelashes 07 (P600, SM Beauty Store, SM Makati).
