A MAN was shot to death by his partner after the former was figured in a commotion with his stepson inside their house at Barangay Bantayan in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Monday, October 8.

Killed was Felesicimo Marquez Jr., 49, of the said village.

Wounded were his stepson Mark Angelo Flores, and wife Shane.

Superintendent Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said the victim went home drunk and had an argument with his stepson which prompted him to allegedly hit the latter with a hammer.

Mark Angelo’s wife tried to pacify them but she was also hit by the victim with a hammer.

The victim’s partner, Rosalie Flores, also tried to pacify them but the commotion continued.

Rosalie took the victim’s .357 caliber revolver and fired a warning shot, hitting their wall but the victim did not stop.

It prompted Rosalie to fire at the victim, hitting him on his back.

Marquez was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Mark Angelo and his wife were also brought to a hospital after sustaining minor injuries when they were hit by a hammer.

Rosalie surrendered to the authorities through the help of the village watchmen past 11 p.m. She was then turned over to the police.

Guadalupe said the misunderstanding between the victim and Rosalie’s son triggered the incident.

The city police chief said an argument usually happens inside the house when the victim is drunk because he wanted Mark Angelo and Shane to move out of the house.

Rosalie is now detained at Kabankalan City Police Station.

The police were not able to recover the firearm used in the crime.*
