More than 400,000 in ‘shabu’ seized

AUTHORITIE­S in Negros Occidental seized an estimated P410,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations from October 21 to 24.

On October 24, Ronilo 34, was arrested at Barangay Sum-ag in Bacolod City for the recovery of four sachets of suspected shabu (methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide) worth P10,000, and the P500 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 9.

On the same day, Alvin Equibal, 23, of Barangay San Pedro, Binalbagan town was collared in the said village after police confiscate­d from him suspected marijuana leaves worth P1,500, an improvised pipe, a cellular phone, and the P300 marked money.

On October 23, newly identified drug personalit­y Kenneth Lago, 42, of Barangay Antipolo in Pontevedra town was arrested in the same village after he yielded six sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P20,000, the P500 marked money, a cellular phone, and lighter.

On Tuesday, Jan Robert Laureano, 24, of Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan town was arrested in the said village for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.

Police seized from him two sachets of suspected shabu and the P300 marked money.

On October 22, operatives of the City Drug Enforcemen­t Unit (CDEU) arrested Abner Solo, 19, of Barangay Handumanan, and Johnrey Villanueva, 26,

of Barangay Alijis at Barangay Mansilinga­n, which resulted to the recovery of 17 sachets of suspected shabu worth P175,000, the P100 marked money, P1,500 in cash, coin purse, a tooter, and a cellular phone. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 7.

Also arrested on the same day at Barangay 5 in San Carlos City were drug personalit­ies Raymond Epis, 25, of the said village; and Jomel Diapana, 31, of Barangay 4.

Police confiscate­d from them six sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, lighter, the P300 marked money, and lighter.

In a separate operation, Romelo Canales, 28, of Barangay 1 in Hinigaran town was arrested in the said village last Monday which led to the recovery of three sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,500, the P500 marked money, coin purse, lighter, and a cellular phone.

Personnel of Cadiz City Police Station also arrested Jowel Bacroya, 22, of Barangay Zone 2, a job order employee of the city government, at Barangay Zone 4 after police seized four sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,500, pouch, cellular phone, and the P500 marked money. He is a newly-identified drug personalit­y.

On October 21, top drug personalit­y Marjhone Morales, 30, of Barangay San Pablo, was arrested at Barangay Tortosa after he yielded four sachets of suspected shabu worth P180,000, two improvised tooters, weighing scale, lighters, a .45 caliber pistol with two magazines, and 10 ammunition, aluminum foil, P500 marked money, and P6,000 boodle money.

In a separate operation, Rex Encontro, 28, of Barangay Poblacion, Bago City was arrested last Sunday at Barangay Balingasag after police recovered from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,500, plastic scooper, the P200 marked money, P50 in cash, coin purse, and a tricycle.

Encontro is the sixth top drug personalit­y of Bago City Police Station.

Over the weekend, Ferdimar Yap, 50, of Barangay 3, La Carlota City, a job order employee of the city government, was arrested in the said village. He is the seventh top drug personalit­y of La Carlota City Police Station.

Police recovered from Yap two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,000, an improvised tooter, lighter, cellular phone, the P300 marked money, and P43 in cash.*
