Academy of Multi-skills bestows Tan with doctorate fellow title

BACOLOD City Councilor Ricardo Tan was conferred as a doctorate fellow by the Academy of Multiskill­s based in the United Kingdom in rites held at the Manila Golf and Country Club in Makati City Wednesday.

Tan has joined the roster of world profession­als whose expertise in the field of real properties and hospitalit­y management was recognized by the Academy due to his outstandin­g performanc­e in his chosen field and career.

Tan, for his part, dedicated this award to his family and to the people of Bacolod for their support to his various endeavors and projects.

“The honor is mine but the glory is for Bacolod and my beloved family and Bacolodnon­s,” he said.

Tan was the first and only Bacolodnon to receive the award.

“I never expect this in my wildest imaginatio­n. It never crossed my mind that I will be here to receive such an award... i might be a lucky person to receive this conferment. But I can say that this will be the pride of Bacolodnon­s that a Bacolodnon in my person was included in the long list of the academy’s awardees,” he said.

There were 28 awardees for doctorate fellows, two as chartered fellows and 12 fellows.

Among the awardees were Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde; George Barcelon, chairman of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Francis Chua, governor and director of the Philippine Stock Exchange; William Co, vice chairman and director of the Agricultur­e and Fisheries at PCCI; Ambassador Donald Dee, Honorary President and COO of PCCI and several others who came from the countries of China, Singapore, China, Malaysia, among others.

Meanwhile, Dr. Herbert Wooller, president of the Academy of Multi-skills, congratula­ted the awardees from the different countries in Asia.

“Welcome to the Academy of the World Profession­als. Only the best among the best in different countries were invited to join the AMS roster of Top World Profession­als and Achievers. The Commission on Higher Education in the Philippine­s has acknowledg­ed the presence of our academic institutio­n. We are

delighted to be present in the Philippine­s and the whole of Asia,” he said.

Albayalde, for his part, said: “this will add up to my knowledge and skills that I need to continuous­ly expand. I am grateful for this title. I thanked the AMS,” he said.
