WOMAN who was previously arrested for illegal possession of dangerous drugs was shot to death by an unidentified man on Lopez Jaena Street at Barangay 31 in Bacolod City Sunday, October 28.

Killed was Irene Chicano, 32, of the said village.

Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr., head of Police Station 6, said the victim, along with her two daughters aged two and eight, were riding an e-tricycle past 6 p.m. when a red vehicle followed them.

The gunman then disembarked from the vehicle and fired at the victim.

Chicano succumbed to four gunshot wounds on her back, neck, and left arm.

Benoman said they are still verifying if one of the victim’s daughters were injured in the incident.

Police recovered from the scene several fired bullets of an unknown firearm.

Benoman said they cannot yet establish the motive of the incident but it could be drug-related.

He said they will check a copy of a nearby closed-circuit television camera footage to identify the gunman.

They’re still following up on the lead of the possible suspects.
