SP lauds Silver Masskara Festival Organizati­on, PNP

THE Sanggunian­g Panlungsod (SP) of Bacolod City expressed their heartfelt and warmest congratula­tions and commendati­on to the Silver Masskara Festival Organizati­on Inc., the Philippine National Police and all Masskara support agencies for the successful and peaceful celebratio­n of the 39th Masskara Festival.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Bartolome Orola, was approved during the regular session Monday.

Orola said the recently concluded world-renowned Masskara Festival celebratio­n of Bacolod has been very successful and was well-attended by local and internatio­nal tourists, various foreign delegates, local celebritie­s, and national officials, including President Rodrigo Duterte.

He said the residents and tourists, both local and internatio­nal, thoroughly enjoyed the month-long Masskara Festival and expressed their appreciati­on to the well organized and highly visible police personnel and other support agencies who maintained the peace and order protection of the merrymaker­s during the festival.

“Such high-level performanc­e in law enforcemen­t, prevention of crime and maintenanc­e of peace and order deserved the accolades and recognitio­n for a job well done,” he added.

Orola noted that the all-out support and cooperatio­n of the various Masskara support agencies have been instrument­al in the very successful and peaceful celebratio­n of the festival.

The City Council also approved a resolution congratula­ting Police Regional Office-6 director Chief Superinten­dent John Bulalacao, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director Senior Superinten­dent Rodolfo Castil Jr., Bacolod City Police Office acting director Senior Superinten­dent Francisco Ebreo, all field commanders and their dedicated men and women in uniform for successful­ly maintainin­g the peace and order of the festival.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Ricard Tan, stated that the PNP was very strong and united in fielding their uniformed personnel to Bacolod City in order to secure all people who come and celebrate the entire period of the world-famous Masskara Festival.

Tan said that except for some minor concerns, peace and order was well-maintained, the people were all secured paving the way to the successful and colorful celebratio­n of the festival.

“Such best performanc­e of PNP personnel is the product of a very effective planning and leadership of the top-ranking commanders within the region, as well as the generous support of the city officials,” he said.

He added that words are not enough to describe how thankful the people of Bacolod, as well as the local and foreign tourists who came all the way Bacolod to experience the Masskara Festival./map
