Negocc gets DILG award for excellence in local governance

THE Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recognized the provincial government of Negros Occidental of its exemplary performanc­e and in appreciati­on of its long-term contributi­on to the developmen­t of the Performanc­e Challenge Fund (PCF).

The award was given Thursday, November 8, during the PCF Summit held at Sulo Riviera Hotel in Manila. It was received by Provincial Planning and Developmen­t Coordinato­r Ma. Lina Sanogal.

Undersecre­tary for operations Epimaco Densing III signed the certificat­e of recognitio­n entitled “Katangitan­ging Pagpupugay sa Lokal na Pamahalaan sa Pagsasa katuparan ng Performanc­e Challenge Fund.”

The said program promotes transparen­cy, resiliency, socially-protective­ness and competitiv­eness for the successful implementa­tion and completion of PCF projects since 2010.

The DILG acknowledg­es and appreciate­s the province’s invaluable contributi­on and effort towards the effective and efficient delivery of basic service, responsive to the present and future needs of the community.

Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. was grateful for this recognitio­n.

Sanogal said that the award is attributed to the efficient and effective people of the provincial government for maintainin­g excellence in local governance, and for the inspiratio­n, direction, and excellent leadership of Marañon, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, and the Sanggunian­g Panlalawig­an members.*
