P435K in drugs seized

AN estimated P435,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental from November 6 to 11.

Over the weekend, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has confiscate­d an estimated P288,003.50 worth of illegal drugs in separate operations conducted by Police Stations 1,3,4,7, and 8, a press release from the BCPO said.

Eight persons, including two minors, were arrested from November 9 to 11.

A total of 19.0026 grams of shabu (methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide) worth P287,039 and 4.193 grams of marijuana worth P964.50 were seized in three days.

The minor-suspects were referred to the Woman and Children Protection Desk (WCPD). They were also subjected to medical examinatio­n for a proper dispositio­n of their case.

Drug charges were already filed against the six other arrested suspects.

On November 9, Jerry Rubio, newly-identified drug personalit­y, of Barangay Tampalon, in Kabankalan City was arrested at Barangay 1, which resulted to the recovery of five sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P20,000, the P500 marked money, and P485 in cash.

Also arrested on Friday was Jefrey Hoyohoy, 23, of Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City, after police seized from him three sachets of suspected shabu, a tricycle, and the P500 marked money. He is a high-value target.

On November 8, Sydney Perales, 39, of Barangay 3, Silay City, was collared in Barangay Lantad. He is a level two high-value target.

Police recovered from him four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams worth P90,000, brown paper, the P1,000 marked money, and P6,000 boodle money, cellular phone, and P120 in cash.

On November 7, Edilbero Sabora was arrested at Barangay Zone 4, Talisay City after he yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, cellular phone, and the P300 marked money.

On November 6, 32year-old Rafhy Glin Gemelo, a newly-identified drug personalit­y, was arrested at Barangay 2 Poblacion, Pontevedra town after police recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu worth P15,000, and a motorcycle.

Also arrested on the same day in Victorias City for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs was John Edfiel Guino-o, 24, of Barangay 1, a newly-identified drug personalit­y.
