Capi­tol to im­ple­ment projects early in 2019

NE­GROS Oc­ci­den­tal Pro­vin­cial Bud­get Of­fi­cer Jose Percival Sal­ado said that de­part­ments and of­fices of the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment are gear­ing up to get the Seal of Good Lo­cal Gov­er­nance.

They will also start the im­ple­men­ta­tion of projects and pro­grams early Jan­uary next year.

“Mem­bers of the lo­cal fi­nance com­mit­tee of the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment has long com­plained of the slow im­ple­men­ta­tion of projects. This re­sulted in the non-qual­i­fi­ca­tion of the prov­ince in the Seal of Good Lo­cal Gov­er­nance this year,” Sal­ado said.

He said depart­ment heads agreed that ef­fec­tive this Novem­ber, funds will be re­leased al­ready be­cause, in De­cem­ber, Gov­er­nor Al­fredo Marañon Jr. will start sign­ing the project pro­pos­als.

“By Jan­uary next year, we will start the pro­cess­ing the vouch­ers and re­quests,” he pointed out.

He said the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment will try to fol­low what is be­ing done in the na­tional gov­ern­ment where they im­ple­ment projects in Jan­uary.

“The front­line de­part­ments has the obli­ga­tion and re­spon­si­bil­ity to has­ten the pro­cess­ing of their re­quests. The bid­ding process should be a part of their plan­ning for their needs and project im­ple­men­ta­tion,” he pointed out.
