He asked: “Who will declare an area under the political hotspot? The POBACOLOD lice or the Comelec (Commission on Elections)?”

He said he believes that politics is behind the tagging without elaborating.

But Malacon assured his constituents that the coming elections will be peaceful in the town.

Meanwhile, Malacon said the bidding of various projects amounting to P200 million is set starting this month.

The projects up for bidding included the purchase of P50 million worth of heavy equipment and rehabilitation of the town’s public market worth P140 million.

Malacon said they will hold the bidding of the said projects following the release of the P200 million loan of the municipal government from the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Malacon explained that the loan was already approved last year but the release was delayed after Vice Mayor Robert Acaling questioned the loan.*
