POC rec­og­nizes tchouk­ball as new NSA

AF­TER four years of hard work and sac­ri­fices, the Tchouk­ball As­so­ci­a­tion of the Philip­pines (TAP) fi­nally get the nod as one of the coun­try’s newly-rec­og­nized Na­tional Sports As­so­ci­a­tion un­der the Philip­pine Olympic Com­mit­tee.

TAP, dur­ing the re­cent POC Gen­eral As­sem­bly held in Pasig City, joined three other NSAS as new mem­bers of the POC.

The other three are World Sikaran Brother­hood of the Philip­pines, Philip­pine Floor­ball As­so­ci­a­tion and the United Philip­pine Surf­ing As­so­ci­a­tion.

For TAP pres­i­dent Ray­mund Jamelo, it comes with great honor to be rec­og­nized by the coun­try’s high­est sports body – the POC.

“We, in TAP, con­sid­ered this as God’s gift to our lead­ers and young ath­letes. Be­ing now a mem­ber of the POC fam­ily, we can be as­sured of its full sup­port in terms of grow­ing Tchouk­ball all over the coun­try and de­velop ath­letes that can bring honor to our home­land,” he said.

Jamelo added he sees tchouk­ball as a key that will open doors of op­por­tu­ni­ties in achiev­ing our vi­sion and mis­sion. “POC recog­ni­tion gives us the con­fi­dence to push for our projects know­ing they be­lieved on TAP’S core val­ues. POC is a ‘big brother’ to us,” he added.

This com­ing Palarong Pan­lalaw­igan, Jamelo said they are ex­pect­ing to bring tchouk­ball as one of the demon­stra­tions sports. “We are look­ing for­ward to present the sport in the up­com­ing West­ern Visayas Re­gional Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion Meet in Capiz and Palarong Pam­bansa in Davao next year,” he stressed.*
