50 City Hall retirees honored
A TOTAL of 50 employees of the Bacolod City government, who have retired from the service this year, were honored by the city government at a tribute program Monday.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia thanked the retirees for dedicating their lives in the service of Bacolodnons.
“You are part and parcel of Bacolod, and Bacolod would not be where it is today if not for your contributions,” the mayor told the retirees at a program held at the Government Center and organized by the Human Resource Management Services Office.
“Our employees are the front-liners in terms of public service, and they are an integral factor in good governance, that is why we honor you for making Bacolod what it is today. Thank you for your service to Bacolod,” the mayor added.
The retirees received gifts and plaques.
The oldest retiree, Carlos Sison, 65, from Department of Public Services, had been in the service for 48 years, while the youngest to retire is Jenelyn Seroma, 43, from Bacolod City College, with 20 years of service. These two retirees led the ceremonial lighting of the cake.
“We know how special and important you are, and how much you contributed to this governance and to the city in general, so we hope that what you see here tonight is something that would make you feel that this is the kind of occasion you deserve,” Leonardia said./pr
