Village officials seek assistance for relocation of barangay hall
THE officials of Barangay 8 in Bacolod City are seeking the assistance of the city officials for the relocation of their Barangay Hall.
Village chief Joanna Magalona said yesterday they received a letter from the regional office Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Wednesday that they will demolish the structures situated near the Bfp-bacolod building.
She said the lot, where the barangay hall is situated, is owned by the Provincial Government.
She added the BFP will rehabilitate their building and they are requesting them to vacate including the 19 houses in the area.
She noted they are occupying the area for almost 20 years.
Magalona said she already talked with Mayor Evelio Leonardia to help them find a new place for their barangay hall.
She said she will also endorse the names of the owners of the 19 houses to the Bacolod Housing Authority so they can avail a relocation site.
For his part, Leonardia said they will check the area first so they can find a new place to transfer the barangay hall./map
