Vil­lage of­fi­cials seek as­sis­tance for re­lo­ca­tion of barangay hall

THE of­fi­cials of Barangay 8 in Ba­colod City are seek­ing the as­sis­tance of the city of­fi­cials for the re­lo­ca­tion of their Barangay Hall.

Vil­lage chief Joanna Ma­ga­lona said yes­ter­day they re­ceived a let­ter from the re­gional of­fice Bu­reau of Fire Pro­tec­tion (BFP) on Wed­nes­day that they will de­mol­ish the struc­tures si­t­u­ated near the Bfp-ba­colod build­ing.

She said the lot, where the barangay hall is si­t­u­ated, is owned by the Provin­cial Gov­ern­ment.

She added the BFP will re­ha­bil­i­tate their build­ing and they are re­quest­ing them to va­cate in­clud­ing the 19 houses in the area.

She noted they are oc­cu­py­ing the area for al­most 20 years.

Ma­ga­lona said she al­ready talked with Mayor Eve­lio Leonar­dia to help them find a new place for their barangay hall.

She said she will also en­dorse the names of the own­ers of the 19 houses to the Ba­colod Hous­ing Au­thor­ity so they can avail a re­lo­ca­tion site.

For his part, Leonar­dia said they will check the area first so they can find a new place to trans­fer the barangay hall./map
