The Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital (BOLMSH) will reopen its doors this month as medical staff has already started reporting for duty.

The medical facility located at Barangay Mandalagan,

Bacolod City also changed its name to Queen of Mercy Hospital.

A personnel who asked anonymity revealed to Sunstar Bacolod yesterday that the hospital will be run by a new set of doctors and that Dr. Evangeline Johnson of Tiong Bi which owns the hospital will serve as a consultant.

The Sunstar source refused to reveal the names of the doctors.

“Definitely, the hospital will reopen within this month,” the personnel revealed.

The hospital was scheduled to reopen on January 2 but it did not push through.

The personnel said the new management has already secured a permit to reopen the hospital from the Department of Health under a new name.

Personnel for every department including nurses and doctors and other medical personnel have already been hired and have been reporting to the hospital, the source said. ”Other personnel from the former management were rehired but not all of them. Only selected nurses and other medical personnel,” the source added.

The personnel added there have been several inquiries they received about the reopening of the hospital, including dialysis patients.

BOLMSH formerly managed by the Negros Healthcare Management Systems Inc. shut down its operations on July 31, 2018 after the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. suspended the hospital’s accreditation due to previous violations allegedly committed by the previous management under Tiong Bi.

A total of 401 hospital workers lost their jobs while 213 dialysis patients were displaced, as well as hundreds of patients.*
