Unity walk, covenant sign­ing for peace­ful elec­tions set

THE Ba­colod City Po­lice Of­fice (BCPO) will hold a unity walk and peace covenant sign­ing for peace­ful midterm and lo­cal elec­tions in the city on Sun­day, Jan­uary 13, at the pub­lic plaza.

The ac­tiv­ity will be headed by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Fran­cisco Ebreo, act­ing BCPO di­rec­tor, and city elec­tion reg­is­trar Mavil Ma­jaru­con-sia.

The ac­tiv­ity will start with a holy mass at 6 a.m. at the San Se­bas­tian Cathe­dral fol­lowed by the

unity walk around the pub­lic plaza and will end with the sign­ing of the peace covenant by the can­di­dates.

A prayer rally will also be held.

This ini­tia­tive will be con­ducted si­mul­ta­ne­ously in all other po­lice of­fices na­tion­wide in view of in­vok­ing the in­ter­ven­tion of the Almighty for a sig­nif­i­cant, cred­i­ble, and hon­est elec­tions 2019, a press re­lease said.

All can­di­dates who are run­ning for var­i­ous po­si­tions in Ba­colod City, as well as Colonel Bene­dict Arevalo, com­man­der of the 303rd In­fantry Bri­gade of the Philip­pine Army, Ba­colod In­te­rior and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment di­rec­tor Ma. Joy Mared­ith Ma­dayag, and other stake­hold­ers are in­vited in the ac­tiv­ity.

The BCPO hopes for peace­ful and cred­i­ble elec­tions with the can­di­dates show­ing their sup­port and com­mit­ment in the at­tain­ment of its pur­pose and ob­jec­tives.*
