PBA to lower ticket prices to lure more fans to games

Sun Star Bacolod - - Prime Sports -

THE PBA is moving to make tickets more affordable to fans.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Thursday bared the league’s plan to sell tickets at a discounted rate for the coming 44th season and make the prices affordable to fans.

Under the promo that is still subject to the approval of the Department of Trade and Industry, fans need only to present a proof of purchase of products of the league’s 12 member teams to avail of discounts.

For example, a fan will be able to avail of the discount if he or she presents a bottle cap of San Miguel Beer or Ginebra San Miguel products, and even a Meralco billing or a ticket ride from a Dyip public utility vehicle.

The move hopes to bring more fans to the games and improve the attendance of the games which has been the perennial problem for the past few seasons.

At present, ticket are priced between P50 for general admission tickets to P2,900 for courtside seats./ spin.ph
