P224K in drugs seized

AN ES­TI­MATED P224,000 worth of sus­pected drugs was seized in two sep­a­rate buy-bust oper­a­tions in Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal on Jan­uary 13.

In Ba­colod City, Pe­dro Gum­ban Jr., 41, of Si­lay City; and Joy Pelino, 18, of Cadiz City were ar­rested at the South­bound ter­mi­nal in Lopez Jaena Street for al­leged sale and il­le­gal pos­ses­sion of dan­ger­ous drugs.

Po­lice re­cov­ered from them six sa­chets of sus­pected shabu (metham­phetamine hy­drochlo­ride) weigh­ing 15.8 grams worth P189,000 and P4,700 in cash.

In Pon­teve­dra town, Ma­geoles Sal­hay, 46, of Barangay Mi­randa was col­lared in the said vil­lage for the same of­fense.

He is a newly-iden­ti­fied drug per­son­al­ity.

The op­er­a­tion re­sulted in the con­fis­ca­tion of five sa­chets of sus­pected shabu worth P35,000, the P500 marked money, a cel­lu­lar phone, and a lighter.*
