P212,500 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN estimated P212, 500 worth of suspected shabu or methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide were seized in separate drug-bust operations of Police Station 3 in Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Police identified the suspects as Bernard Benegay; and Carmen Custodio, both residents of Bacolod City.

Police Major Ruel Culanag, chief of Police Station 3, said Custodio was caught selling of suspected shabu to a police undercover at 12:30 a.m in San Mateo Village, Barangay Banago.

Police recovered from Custodio’s possession six sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug parapherna­lias.

Culanag said the recovered shabu weighing 10 grams has an estimated market value of P125,000.

At about 3 a.m., the operatives also arrested Benegay at Margareta Street, Eroreco Subdivisio­n, Barangay Mandalagan.

Culanag said Benegay was caught selling of suspected shabu to a police undercover.

Police recovered from Benegay’s possession six sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug parapherna­lias.

Culanag said the recovered shabu weighing seven grams has an estimated market value of P87,500.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, about 12 grams of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P140,000 was also seized in a drug-bust conducted by Police Station in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.

Arrested was Mary Jane Termil.

Police records showed that Termil was caught selling of suspected shabu to a police undercover at 4:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Termil’s possession five sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.*
