Village chief cries foul over ‘politicized’ projects
“THEY politicized Barangay Tangub.”
This was stressed by village chief Noli Villarosa of Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City yesterday after all of his purok presidents were complaining that they failed to receive projects from the present administration.
Villarosa said his village has a total of 27 puroks and all of its officials failed to receive projects or
programs from the present administration because of the two executives of the city hall who don’t want to give projects in Barangay Tangub.
“We are very cooperative to the present administration. We joined in all of its activities like during the Masskara Festival, but my purok officials were complaining that the city government failed to put any projects in our barangay,” he said.
He added that most of their complaints are lack of concrete basketball courts for the youths in all puroks.
Villarosa pointed out they are independent and they don’t endorse any politician for May 13 elections.
“We do not have a problem with the mayor, but only to his two executives Nonoy Amago and Noe Destajo. If you are an enemy of Amago and Destajo, you cannot avail [of] any project from the city,” Villarosa said.
He said: “If we want to talk to the mayor, we will face Amago or Destajo first. We are not questioning the mayor here, but only these two persons.”
Villarosa added he is hopeful that Mayor Leonardia will also give attention to all the barangay captains as well as the people of Barangay Tangub.
Meanwhile, Sunstarbacolod tried to get the reaction of Amago, but he refused to give his comment in this issue since he’s a government employee, while Destajo could not be reached for a comment as of press time.*
