Twelve Rotary clubs and their respective incoming officers for Rotary Year 2019-2020 under the District 3850 have attended the District Training Assembly held at the Base Function Hall, Mandalagan, Bacolod City, May 18, 2019.

Incoming District 3850 Governor Raphy Tayco led the said training as attended by the incoming officers of the Rotary clubs of Silay, Escalante, Victoria’s, Bacolod North, Bacolod, Central, East, South, West, Kabankalan, Metro Bacolod, and Metro San Carlos Calatrava.

“This is a training for incoming club officers of the Rotary. We do this every year to prepare the incoming officers of Rotary clubs for the coming Rotary year,” he said.

During the district training assembly, they were oriented about the thrust of the rotary, under the baton of the incoming Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney of the Rotary Club of Decatur, Alabama.

During the training, they discussed several topics such as the different areas of focus of the rotary mainly on the membership, Rotary foundation, club and district service projects, public image and others.

The Rotary theme for the coming Rotary year is: “Ro

tary connects the world.”

In his term, he hopes to increase the Rotary membership in the district.

With more members, it will bring more good opportunities to help the clubs achieve their goals toward community service.

“We also hope to contribute more to the Rotary Foundation because that would help fuel the projects of Rotary to the community,” he said.

His marching order to all incoming club presidents and their officers is to effectively connect with the community through service.

Club presidents should also take care of their members.

He further said that, “We hope that through the service projects that Rotary will continue to extend to the community, these will truly benefit the community.”

He also disputes the impression that Rotary is a club of the elites saying, “That is what we like to disabuse as Rotary is for all. Let us not look at the finances but the members capacity to serve.”

During the district training assembly, they got 95% attendance of which the incoming governor is grateful with the turnout.*
