8 ladies vie for Miss Culture Internatio­nal 2019 title

The candidates were Karen Elizabeth Garcia of Mexico; Claire Therese Porras of the Philippine­s; Sylvernie Belinda Englebert of Malaysia; Jasmine Elliott of Australia; Flora Gracia Siagian of Indonesia; Liyah Phiri of Zambia; Blessing Amaka of Nigeria and Ioana Dorohoii of Romania.

They had their press presentati­on on May 27 at Stonehill Suites in Barangay 7, Bacolod City. The proper pageant night is set on May 31.

Some of the ladies shared their views why they joined the pageant.

Miss Amaka of Nigeria said she joined the Miss Culture Internatio­nal as she wants to show the culture and beauty of her country with other girls.

Miss Sylvernie Belinda Engelbert, 18, born at Kota-kinabalu, Malaysia also said she joined Miss Culture Internatio­nal because she wants to introduce to the whole world about her beautiful culture.

Miss García of Mexico, 23, born at Nuevo Leoìn. Meìxico said, “I will be very honest, the field of culture and history of various countries has always caught my attention the fact of knowing and learning from other cultures, that’s why I always wanted to represent Mexico in an internatio­nal contest and win to be able to have that possibilit­y to travel and to know the world, impart my knowledge, help, learn and meet warm people. It fills me with pride to be Mexican, to be a spokespers­on for my land and to get to share our culture, roots, traditions and our people to a totally different continent.”
