Indian national found dead

THE body of an Indian national believed to have drowned was recovered at Maligo River, Hda. Mercedes, Barangay Alicante, E.B. Magalona on June 12.

The victim was identified by the E.B. Magalona PNP as Randodh Singh, Indian National, 24 years old and is temporaril­y residing at Barangay 7, Victorias City.

Based on the report of the E.B. Magalona PNP, the body found floating in the river was identified by his uncle, Lakhwant Singh Toor and that they believe that he drowned at the said river. The victim was brought to St. Katherine Funeral Parlor, Barangay 2-Poblacion, EB Magalona MPS subject for post mortem examinatio­n.

In another developmen­t, a man was injured in a stabbing incident in Sitio Kampadoad, Barangay Dolis, Calatrava on June 12.

The victim was identified as Lucio Abiso, 30 years old of the same place while the suspect

was identified as Jonie Ugdamin,23 years old also of the Barangay.

Investigat­ion revealed that while the victim and the suspect were having a drinking spree, an altercatio­n ensued about their work which triggered the suspect to stab the victim with the use of a bladed weapon hitting and inflicting one (1) stabbed wound on the victim’s armpit. The victim was rushed to Calatrava District Hospital for medical treatment but was referred to San Carlos City Hospital for further treatment.

A hacking incident was also reported on June 12, 2019 at around 7:30 PM at Purok Maisan, Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

The victim, identified as Renante Poras, 43 years old of Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto died of multiple hack wounds at the upper and lower portion of his back. The suspect was identified as Ruel Purisima, 35 years old also a resident of the place.

Initial police investigat­ion showed that while the victim was walking on his way home, he was confronted and hacked to death by the suspect with the use of a bolo. The suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident./tde
