P112K ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN estimated P112,000 worth of shabu or methamphit­amine hydroclori­de was seized in a drug bust by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from June 28 to 30.

The operations also led to the arrest of four drug personalit­ies identified as Tyron Deopita, 25, of Barangay 29; Ronald Hilaga, 38, of Barangay Singcang-airport; Edgar Navarro, 32, and JR Posadas, 31, both residents of Barangay 3, all in Bacolod City.

Deopita was arrested after he was caught selling shabu to a police undercover of Police Station 1 at Purok Paghidaet, Barangay 29 at about 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police recovered from Deopita’s possession 23 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P45,000, the P300 marked money, and drug parapherna­lia.

Operatives of Police Station 8 also arrested Hilaga at Calong-calong, Zone 1, Barangay Singcang-airport at about 11:50 p.m. on Friday.

Police recovered from Hilaga’s possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P13,000, and the P200 marked money.

Navarro and Posadas were also arrested by operatives of Police Station at Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3 at about 10:45 p.m. on Friday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 18 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P45,000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1, 2, and 8 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
