Cafgu hurt in Moises Padilla shooting

A MEMBER of CAFGU Active Auxiliary was hurt in a shooting incident at about 7:30 p.m. June 28, 2019 at 12IB Montilla Patrol Base Delta Company, Prk. Kasoy, Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as Marty Villarma, 45, and employed as CAFGU Active Auxiliary 12IB based in the same place where the incident happened while the suspect was identified as Adonis Villanueva, 32, of So. Tangke, Brgy, General Luna, Toboso.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Moises Padilla PNP, a witness identified as Martin Villarma said that the suspect shoot the victim after they had an argument using the victim's issued firearm hitting him on the left portion of his neck.

The victim was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital at Isabela for medical attention but was further referred to one of the hospitals in Bacolod City for further treatment.

The Suspect fled after the incident in fear of the possible retaliation from the victim’s relatives inside the detachment. A witness further alleged that the suspect was observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

The suspect reportedly went to the house of retired Master Sergeant Padilla and sought for help for his safety and upon arrival of the responding team of Moises Padilla PNP to the area, said suspect voluntarily surrendered to Police Officer Joliver Estelloso and turnedover the issued firearm of the victim, a Glock 17 without magazine.

The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and anti-torture law.*
