Pedicab driver stabbed to death in San Carlos

A PEDICAB driver was stabbed to death by another pedicab driver in Sitio Lamesa, Barangay Buluangan, San Carlos City on July 13.

The victim was identified as Elmer Anos, 38, while the suspect was identified as Salvador Paslon, 41, both residents of the said place.

Police report revealed that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument while having a drinking session. The suspect then

stabbed the victim hitting him at the different parts of his body which caused his instantane­ous death. The suspect voluntaril­y surrendere­d to the police.

Meanwhile four fishermen were arrested due to illegal fishing on July 14 in the vicinity of Anjuan Island, Brgy. Cartagena, Sipalay City.

The suspects were identified as Romel Lausa, 28; Renel Chavez, 24; Juanito Gi’pase, 24 and Remy Chavez, 29, all residents of Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City.

The suspects were apprehende­d after they were caught in the act engaging in illegal fishing along the territoria­l water of Anjuan Island, Brgy Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. They were brought to the police station for violation of Sec. 41 of Sipalay City Ordinance No. 2005-004 (Illegal used of compressor in fishing).

Recovered from their possession and control were a set of air compressor; two (2) improvised fins; two (2) improvised flashlight; two (2) roll air hose; two (2) spear guns; two (2) face masks and five hundred pesos worth of fish catch.
