ICONIC rock band Sandwich along with other top artists are slated to perform in the Tanduay Rum Festival concert on Aug. 24, 2019 in Bacolod. The event serves as the culminating event of the festival that is being held in honor of the sugarcane, which has played an important role in the city’s economic history and is the source of the world’s number one rum.

“The concert is going to be a fitting end to a two-week celebration that also highlights Filipino talent and ingenuity. We will have artists from Manila and Bacolod who are known for their respective music genres performing at our celebratory event,” said Tanduay Chief Marketing Officer Paul Lim.

Joining Sandwich are Idol Philippines’ Dan Ombao and Miguel Ordon, both of whom made it to the Top 5 of the recent reality singing contest; Filam rapper Mike Swift; and Bacolod’s Pride— Project Juan, Barbie na Doll, and Cali Island.

Swift will likewise be participating in the visual arts events of the Rum Fest from Aug. 19 to 23. He will bring his “Every Court Can Dream” to Bacolod and oversee the barrel art painting contest of the festival.

On its opening day on Aug. 17, the Tanduay Rum Festival will hold an open kitchen and mixology contest. It will also launch its weekend food bazaar, which will run on Aug. 17-18 and Aug. 23-24.

On the last day of the event prior to the concert, there will be a 5k Rum Run with a mini obstacle course on and a street dance parade./pr
