Man nabbed for illegal firearms

A 33-YEAR old man was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 for violation of illegal firearms at Cityville Subdivisio­n, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Romeo Guillem, of Barangay Estefania.

Police Lieutenant Rondyl Tapang, chief of Police Station 4, said Guillem was arrested after he threatened his neighbor Raygie Delgado, 33, using a .45 caliber at about 9 a.m yesterday.

Police recovered in Guillem’s possession one .45 caliber pistol loaded with magazine with five live ammunition of .45 caliber.

Tapang said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehens­ive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and grave threat.

Meanwhile, two drug personalit­ies were also arrested by personnel of Police Station 9 at Goldenfiel­d, Barangay Singcang-airport, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Arrested were Mitchell Sindol, and Raymond Alunan, both residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokespers­on of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at 3:30 a.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession four sachets of shabu worth P25,000, the P300 marked money, and drug parapherna­lia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./
