PDEA seizes P816K shabu in Bacolod
AN ESTIMATED P816,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in an operation at Gold Crest Subdivision, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City yesterday morning.
The operation conducted by PDEA Special Enforcement Team and Pdea-negros Occidental also led to the arrest of Randy Hamantoc alias “Bulljack” and Duckin Hamantoc.
PDEA records showed the two suspects were the subject of search warrant for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were two small and two big plastic sachets of shabu.
The suspects are detained at PDEA’S custodial facility and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
Meanwhile, an estimated P37,000 worth of shabu was also seized in a drug bust of Police Station 5 at Charito Heights Subdivision, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Monday afternoon.
Arrested were Dharryl Escanuela, Lourwen Lacorte, and Arvin Soberano, of Bacolod City.
Police Lieutenant Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at 2:45 p.m.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu, cellular phone, drug paraphernalia, and public utility vehicle.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing drug charges.
