Reforms in LRA underway

-

including filling up of vacant positions have been implemented by Renato Bermejo, administrator of the Land Registry Authority (LRA).

Bermejo who was in Bacolod City yesterday said that he is hoping that by 2019 all the vacant positions will be fully-filled up except for high ranking positions.

Despite the hiring of about 180 personnel every month, Bermejo said they still lack personnel because of the agency’s tedious jobs on land titles.

Bermejo also revealed that they have been trying to improve the system on Land Titling and in fact they already have implemented the Etitle and that they will have the Citizen Land Registration Portal which they will open to the public. They are also developing webpage www.clrp.com where they plan to outsource the functions of the Register of Deeds. Under the plan, a training seminar will be conducted he said.

The Land Registration Authority has already launched its newly upgraded and refreshed website. The redesigned site exhibits new features and functionalities that offer accessibility to accommodate its existing and potential users.

Land Registration Authority’s new website aims to provide information and updates on the Land Titling Computerization Project services offered by the agency and will be updated on a regular basis with news of the agency’s milestones, circulars, events, newsletters, and press releases.

Bermejo said there are 24.5-million land titles all over the country, a fraction of which are currently being converted as digitized titles.

“The Title Upgrade Program was launched to safeguard the security and integrity of the certificate of land title, which is the best proof of ownership over a land,” Bermejo added.
