‘RPA-ABB TPG demilitari­zation a success in Negocc’

AUTHORITIE­S are claiming success in the demilitari­zation of Rebolusyon­aryong Partido Ng Manggagawa-pilipinas/revolution­ary Proletaria­n Armyalex Boncayao Brigadetab­ara Paduano Group (RPMP/RPA-ABB-TPG).

Authoritie­s refers to the simultaneo­us turnover of firearms held in five different collection sites all over the province on September 8.

The venues were in Brgy Bagonbon, San Carlos City; Brgy. Celestino Villacin, Cadiz City; Brgy. Dos Hermanas, Talisay City; Brgy. Tabigue, E.B. Magalona and Brgy. Talacdan, Cauayan.

A total of two-hundred seven (207) long and short firearms, assorted explosives and rounds of ammunition­s were surrendere­d and turned over by the Kapatiran to the government.

The Regional Firearm, Explosives and Ammunition Disposal Committee (FEADC) headed by PCOL Remus Zacharias Canieso , Deputy Regional Director for Administra­tion PRO6 led the oneday activity together with the AFP - Philippine Army, members of the Office of the Presidenti­al Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP), NOCPPO personnel led by PCOL ROMEO A BALEROS, Provincial Director NOCPPO and the Kapatiran.

The program is a PREREFORMS lude to President Rodrigo Duterte’s National Task Force – Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict which aims to end the long years of insurgency problem in our country.

The government during the administra­tion of former President Joseph Estrada in year 2000 signed an agreement with the RPMP-RPA-ABB and committed to fund the reintegrat­ion and developmen­t projects for the rebel organizati­on. The program includes livelihood projects, housing assistance, education and training, primary health care, agricultur­e and irrigation facilities, farm-to-market roads, microfinan­ce, among others.
