A 38-YEAR-OLD man was shot to death by an unidentified assailant at Araneta Street, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City yesterday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Randolf Domingo, of Barangay Singcang-airport.

Police Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, chief of Police Station 9, said Domingo was standing in front of the gasoline station when an unidentified suspect, who was wearing mask, on board a motorcycle fired at him several times at about 12:50 p.m.

He said the victim sustained multiple wounds and died on the spot while the gunman along with his unidentified companions fled towards the north direction.

Investigation showed that

before the incident, the victim alighted from his driven vehicle and walked towards the gasoline station. His wife and his mother were also inside the vehicle when the gunman fired at him while he was standing in front of the gasoline station.

Pastrana said the victim along with his wife and mother was already on their way to go home.

“His activities were probably monitored by the suspects, it’s a well-planned to kill him in the area,” he said.

He added the companions of the gunman, who served as a look-out, were also on board a black vehicle.

The police are looking into business and drugs as possible motives in the killing of the victim.

Pastrana said Domingo engaged in buying of pigs as his business, and in previous years he was arrested twice in Bacolod City for violation of illegal drugs.

He said they are coordinating with the gasoline station to check the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera in the area.

He added they were eyeing more than three suspects in the killing of the victim. The investigation is still ongoing.*
