Police probe death of man dumped in E.b.magalona

E.B. Magalona Police is conducting an investigation on the death of a man found near a sugarcane field at Hacienda Madena Gustilo, Sitio Bagaas, Brgy. Tabigue, E.b.magalona Thursday morning.

The victim who remained unidentified as of press time was reportedly still breathing when found lying in the said area but died Thursday afternoon at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City.

Police Captain Joseth Catonina, EB Magalona town police chief, said the victim was found lying by the roadside of a sugarcane field by local residents in the area with a gunshot wound in the head and shoulder.

However, to the surprise of the residents, the victim is still breathing and they immediately contacted the local police and paramedics who promptly transported the victim to the CLMMRH.

Catonina believed the victim possibly knew his attackers, who brought him to the area where he was shot.

Police are currently eyeing at least two suspects in the shooting, and they may have used either a tricycle or a motorcycle heading to the area.

The victim is also believed to be not from the town as no one in the area could positively identify him.

E.B. Magalona police are still continuing their investigation.
