'FLOOD OF COMPLAINTS'

- BY TERESA D. ELLERA

RENELO Lastierre, President of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees confirmed the ongoing petition urging Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to transfer

Anabelle Palic from her present position as Provincial Human Resource Office head.

Lastierre said, there is nothing personal against Palic but the petition is based on several complaints that affect several employees including contractual and job orders working under the provincial government.

He said that the Pace board of directors unanimously approved to subject Palic to the petition.

“The employees are asking the governor to act on the matter because her (Palic) acts affect the productivity of the employees as well as the image of the province which is pro-worker. She is not fit to her position as HR Head,” Lastierre pointed out.

Among the COMBACOLOD

plaints of the employees against Palic according to Lastierre includes massive deductions of employees’ leave credits at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic especially those who were quarantined; her policy for retirees where she requires copies of Income Tax Return for the past 10 years despite that the GSIS in answer to the letter-inquiry of PACE has confirmed that such clearances are not necessary anymore for retirees retirement claims.

“Several retirees have not received their GSIS retirement benefits yet because HR is not endorsing their papers. she held their papers that’s why they cannot yet enjoy the fruits of their labor,” Lastierre cited.

He also bared that several health workers who are frontliners who are exposed to danger in this time of the pandemic are also complaining of delayed travel allowance, longevity pay and even unreasonable transfer and discrimination. Several Job order employees are also complaining of delayed salaries, Lastierre added.

Lastierre also revealed that a substantial number of employees have already signed the petition against Palic and that more especially those assigned at the hospitals are signing the petition.

When reached for comment Palic said she will answer the complaints at the proper venue and that it is still premature for her to give reaction because she has not received yet the copy of the petition although she said she has already heard about it.*
