Bacolod City unveils comprehensive health program
In the bid to to boost the delivery of healthcare services in Bacolod City, the local government has launched its comprehensive health program at the lobby of the New Government Center yesterday, July 19.
Dubbed Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BACCHP), the program launching was led by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, city councilors along with various doctors who joined the medical mission.
Councilor Claudio Puentevella, chairperson of the city council committee on health, said it is the first medical mission of Benitez at the government center which will last until July 23, 2022.
“We conducted the medical mission and launching of BACCHP for our constituents. For now, we started the data gathering or profiling of the beneficiaries of the comprehensive health program,” the councilor said.
He added that those who joined the medical mission will be given Bac
CHP cards that can be used once they are hospitalized.
Puentevella noted that they are also finalizing their agreement with various hospitals to honor the BACCHP card not only in public hospitals, but in the private hospitals a s well.
“The BACCHP card is a big help to the card holder to lower their hospital bills. For now, we are prioritizing the indigent residents of Bacolod City,” Puentevella said.
He said that all Bacolodnons will be catered to this program as long as they will apply for the BACCHP card, adding that the barangays will be given their schedule so that they can inform their residents to avail.
The city councilor disclosed that the city council will also pass an ordinance to strengthen this program like the allocation of the funds.*
